Jim
If a video is deleted then the video file and URL cease to exist - is this correct? What is the difference between "mark as deleted" and "deactivated"? In both cases the video file and URL remain but the video is not displayed on lists - is this correct? What are other differences and purposes of the options?
Tech Support
If a video is deleted, all information about it is wiped from file system and database, except some history / audit records. If a video is marked as deleted, then all information in database remains, but all video files and screenshots are deleted from filesystem. The direct URL may, or may not work - this depends on configuration option in Settings -> Website settings section. If a video is deactivated, everything remains in place, but the video is not displayed on lists across the site. Jim
For the marked as deleted case, if the URL is displayed what content is shown and how is this determined/controlled?
Tech Support
If the video is marked as deleted, and the URL is not providing 404 as per settings, the video player will display a message that a video has been deleted.

xvids
I faced same situation many time. so I just suggest this option, if it easy please add, same option youtube has delete permanently after 30 days video/channel until keep it mark deleted for public. because some time by mistake delete or anything wrong etc... 1) X Delete now -wipe all data only keep URL and return 404/410 example on - google.com/deleted 2) X Delete Schedule -auto delete on a date or n days and (1) until display as Mark deleted. 3) X Mark deleted - same as now. example screenshot:
Tech Support
Sorry, what is the reason of having this?
xvids
The reason is simple many tube website already have it, like: xhamster, xvideos, And YouTube, they can recover it from delete folder. This is very popular option, added by all Dev in all devices and OS. like "Recycle Bin" in windows, and in Google, iPhone, Samsung, Gmail. Tech Support
Sorry, we don't want to add such an option because other tube sites have it, this is not a reasoning. We have a lot of other much more important work to do.
