Errors when trying to save changes in browser

Recommended Posts

When I was on KVS 5.X I was getting error 403 when I would try to save changes to certain pages in the admin dashboard. Now I am getting the error 'Your admin session has expired, please log in once again.' on those same pages. I feel like it must be a permissions issue but I'm not certain. If this is caused by server permissions, can you give me recommendations on the Linux folder permissions. Im not sure If I should run a recursive change or not. Many of my folder permissions are set to 'pornsite : pornsite' or 'pornsite : nobody'.

This error message 'Your admin session has expired, please log in once again.' is shown for 403 error by the new admin panel. So you still have 403 error on some pages. Typically this happens because of external security layer enabled (either on your server, or on Cloudflare if you use one). For some reason this security layer thinks you are trying to hack your own admin panel and blocks you from doing this.

But if you are using KVS 6.2.0, this may be KVS bug that we introduced in early releases.

For reference for anyone else, it was Cloudflare's WAF rules. I had to disable them entirely in order to not have it trigger. I have enable OWASP core ruleset on my server ModSecurity instead. Im not sure if the site will be as safe due to this but the site did have many issues ever since this was enabled 2 years ago! I thought it was my installation but I guess it was Cloudflare all along. I combed through my entire server configuration and all my Apache logs and php logs and got no errors internally related to these files that were trying to be accessed. So if anyone else has that issue, this will fix it. It also interfered with the site's uploader as well.
