gsvideo023 Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Hello everyone. I am planning to port the entire content of my wordpress site to a new KVS installation. Before I make the purchase though I want to make sure I can do what I have in mind. I currently use one of the most popular wordpress themes for running a tube site. All the videos that are in the site (let's say 95%) are embedded from another site so in fact in my vps I have the wordpress installation, mysql and as 'physical' data the video previews and thumbnails. What I was wondering is: is it possible once I purchase and set up KVS, to create a script that completely spills over all the data (video title, categories, tags, link to thumbnail and preview, etc.) taking it from the current mysql DB and bringing it into the DBMS that KVS uses (which I don't even know what it is)? As an inexperienced person I think it is possible but I prefer to ask you to be sure of any pitfalls that might arise. Thanks Quote
Tech Support Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this. Wordpress data is not structured, and you always need to analyze it and create some code. We have a migration service for this task: https://www.kernel-video-sharing.com/en/services/#migration Quote
gsvideo023 Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 I bought KVS and I'll try to execute the migration by myself. If I will have issues I'll buy the migration service. :) Quote
