naughtyking
Hi, I have been trying to add the PayPal Smart Button to my website as a payment method, but I'm encountering an error with the PayPal ID. I am hoping a fellow forum member can shed some light on the issue. My website uses the KVS theme, and I have created a PayPal "No-Code Checkout" for it, utilizing the "pay link" ID. https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/xxxxxxxxxxxxx I copied the 13-digit ID "xxxxxxxxxxxxx" to my website and tested it by making a purchase and paying with PayPal as a website visitor. Unfortunately, it did not work, and I received this error message: "Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later." Could anyone advise me on what might be causing this issue and what steps I might be missing? Thank you for your assistance.
Tech Support
I think there is something wrong with your internal paypal button settings, as I see other KVS users are also adding payment buttons and they work fine.
DeepOne
I am also having issues with this. When I use the link provided in the instructions: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=KCWXP42NAG*** I get: “Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later." So then I tried using the link PayPal generates for me and adding the 13 digit host ID: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/KCWXP42NAG*** This link APPEARS to work, however the transaction never gets reported back to my site. PayPal has received and successfully processed transactions via this link, however my site has no record of them whatsoever.
Tech Support
KVS doesn't support their Smart buttons at the moment. It looks like they are gradually removing old buttons from the GUI, but I think you can still access them by manually using these URLs (first for subscription, 2nd for single time purchase): https://www.paypal.com/buttons/subscribe https://www.paypal.com/buttons/buynow

So i just can’t use PayPal? PayPal is (was) the only one that works. When setting up a button I’m given the option to enter an Auto Return URL. Is there a URL I could enter that would report the transaction to my site?
Tech Support
Are you logged in to your Paypal business account? These links give 404 error, but they may be working after logging in. Please try that. Recently replied similar question in the ticket and customer said it worked for them.
DeepOne
No, still doesn’t work. I’m assuming it works for accounts that had previously created the old buttons. Accounts which have not (like mine) cannot. Again, just an assumption.
Tech Support
That's a pity. Then we will likely have to investigate the new type of buttons.
